i f*cking hate cell bio. perceived notions that this class was good, i found out later, is just an utter waste of time. why does this professor even bother to fail like half the class? then we aren't just learning and are practically wasting our money for a worthless cause. Dr. Robinow can very well jump off a cliff and not waste my time teaching in class. geez.

Osaka's guide to premed success..

The best general advice I have is this:

- Work hard. Nothing in life is owed to you or anyone else.

- Work smart. Just blindly beavering away without really thinking about the why or wherefore can (and usually does) lead to a "What the hell am I doing this for?" moment.

- Extra curriculars: get as much clinical and humanitarian experience as you can. You wanna be a physician? It's about taking care of others. So start now.

- Be humble. You may be the smartest human since Einstein or Enrico Fermi, but no one's going to love you just because you're smart.

- Be kind. Also realize that your fellow man has a right to be treated with dignity and respect, whether a patient, nurse, administrative staff, or the kid behind the counter at McDonald's.

KLESHH
be Kind, be Lucky, humanitarian Extracurriculars, study Smart, study Hard, be Humble.

Good luck.

well, i'm back again for the first time.. it's been ages since i updated, to those that hoped for further entries, my apologies. things have been going very busy for me, especially with school and volunteering that i do. i have come to the notion that, as you get older, more work and worries get piled on you, i guess mainly you have more responsibility than you ever had before. this sort of stuff doesn't depress me, really, but i just wish sometimes i could leave it all and go on a vacation far, far away from where i am right now. maybe the carribbean.

lately i haven't the chance to moderate much on the soompi forums, but i try my best to keep up-to-date with the many events that have occurred over the past weeks through my friend dave (DAS) and kevan (Poetic Prophet). so mel, if you're reading this, i am definitely making time to "do" my job so no worries =)

me and lailene *dongseng* decided we're gonna do a volunteer abroad trip maybe next year. probably in Ghana (Africa), India, or Nepal. we have so many choices, and the cost is really cheap compared to other programs out there. i think it's gonna be super cool that we can go together, she's really a dork when it comes to these kinds of things, "gung-ho material" as i would like to call it. even though all of this sounds good and very exciting to do, i would still want to go to Korea, the thought of going always lingers in my mind. i guess that's what you get if you have been taking Korean for 4 semesters straight. although it has been a pretty interesting and invaluable experience to learn another foreign language.

well, i'm not here to bore you, so i'm going to stop for now. take cares everyone and have a good weekend. latess
